This blog is for the chosen few. If you've found it, this applies to you! It's about important stuff. Like weather not being an issue, why it's cool to live in a city, longboarding past the age of forty and why I like the Honda Zoomer, bikes in general, music, art and design. I think. Perhaps there is something to learn from the cut of someone's suit? Or let's muse over the eternal pursuit of happiness... What is happiness? Sense of purpose? This is my struggle to stay in the present:

Three years ago I discovered Magrette Timepieces (www.magrette.com). I wrote: "I never thought I would desire a hybrid watch with a japanese movement, but this watch (and the whole concept -great storytelling there! -of this New Zealand watch company is so cool!) is suave. I will feel cool wearing this. Not only because it reminds me of "home" and looks fantastic -it's only made in 500 pieces. Good enough for me".
Now they've gone and done it all again! A little while back they offered a fantastic chronograph with unidirectional bezel. That disappeared right quick, as they only make so many (usually 500pcs) of each. Their latest offering is the Moana Pacific Diver, in three different color combinations:

I designed these about fifteen years ago, in 1997. I've come in contact with an artist who sometimes makes her own glassware at Skruf. Apparently, you can hire a glassblower by the hour, and a good craftsman can make about 30 objects such as mine in one hour. Sounds interesting enough to pursue. I imagine making a small series of perhaps 100 pieces, numbered and signed.
